This software makes creating and sending faxes easy thanks in part to its built-in printer driver, and fax filter, which can block unwanted and junk faxes. Well-deserving of a spot in our lineup, Snappy Fax is one of the best fax software options on the market and is more than deserving of a top spot in our fax software lineup.
Snappy Fax software is a hugely popular application, and it’s easy to understand why when you see all the features that are included with the software. The smartly-designed application boasts a range of sending and receiving features. To begin with, the fax broadcasting tool on Snappy Fax is an easy way to send a fax to multiple recipients. Broadcast any type of fax you’d like, and specify the time and date you’d like it to be sent (or chose the “on demand” setting). And to make compiling your list of faxing recipients quick and painless, Snappy Fax lets users import their Outlook contacts (or other .cvs or .txt address files), and create an unlimited number of address books.
One feature that makes Snappy Fax memorable is its image annotation and markup tools. Annotating (or marking up) images is incredibly easy with the software. Mark ups to a fax image can be made in the image viewer in Snappy Fax. You can also capture images from multiple windows applications in this fax software to create a singular multi-page document to be faxed in one transmission.
You can monitor incoming and outgoing faxes with ease in Snappy Fax software by navigating to the left sidebar and selecting “Fax Progress,” then you just choose whether to dock or undock the progress window. Also, you can monitor up to ten different “Watch Folders,” so when a document is created in one of the folders and named appropriately, it will be automatically detected and transmitted by Snappy Fax.
Snappy Fax is a great solution for busy business owners. This PC fax software has the ability to forward any and all incoming or received faxes to an email address in either TIFF or PDF format. You can also set up Snappy Fax so that it forwards faxes to email addresses depending on the CSID of the fax. And the application's Receive Mode is highly versatile, allowing users to schedule the exact date and time Snappy Fax activates Receive Mode. You can also receive faxes manually.
The junk fax filter that comes with Snappy Fax is an attractive and highly beneficial feature. It works by either rejecting a specified set of numbers (CSIDs), or being instructed to only receive faxes from a specific list of CSIDs. Either way, you can completely block unwanted faxes in a few simple steps using Snappy Fax.
For more advanced users, a report designer (FastReport) is included with Snappy Fax software. This powerful report designer allows users to create customized reports, and a separate help file is included to teach users the basics of navigating this add-on software. You can also print reports with Snappy Fax and specify the criteria for which faxes to print (incoming faxes, outgoing faxes, fax detail for specified dates, customized templates, etc.).
Our only disappointment with the software was it does not have a phone number display that mimics a real fax machine. However, only a few fax software applications have this capability so we imagine this isn’t something most users will really miss.
Snappy Fax software includes many extras in addition to providing you with the essential tools to send and receive faxes using your PC. One such extra is its ability to apply a digital signature to your faxes. In fact, Snappy Fax is the only fax software we reviewed that offers this highly advantageous functionality. To do this you’ll have to create a signature graphic as a BMP file and size the graphic appropriately so when applied to your fax, all of the important content is still viewable.
The integrated cover page designer in Snappy Fax helps you create attractive, professional-looking cover pages for all your faxes. The designer is very versatile and contains many design tools to create exactly the look you want. You can add images, logos, various shapes and fax disclaimer objects. Additionally, you can "add field boxes" to include all the information necessary on the cover page. A handful of cover page templates are also included and are great to use as a starting point for creating a customized cover page.
As we’d expect from one of our top three products, Snappy Fax is user-friendly and accessible to all users, even those inexperienced with fax software. The application boasts a bright blue, easy-to-use interface, with menu buttons front and center at the top of the screen. Customizable data “views” can be created that sort and filter data so you can view only the faxes that adhere to the set filters.

The biggest drawback with Snappy Fax is it does not offer telephone support, as do many of its competitors. To contact the company directly, there’s only an email address listed on its website.
While we were disappointed that Snappy Fax does not offer technical support via telephone, the software is nearly flawless in every other aspect. From its built-in printer driver that lets you create and send a fax from any Windows application to its detailed cover page designer, Snappy Fax is a solid fax software option that works for virtually all types of users.
